Beginning of F1 Summer Break ๐Ÿ˜Ž

F1 Summer Break just started its four week summer break in the middle of the season. It starts after the Belgium Grand Prix until the Dutch Grand Prix on August 25th. It is a time where teams are able to rest and prepare for the 14-week, 10-race stretch at the end of the season.

It is something that is regulated by FIA in Article 21.8 that โ€œAll competitors must observe a shutdown period of (14) consecutive days during the months of July and or August. In this time period, teams canโ€™t work on their car design or hold any meetings.

Viewership of F1 in the United States this year ๐Ÿ“บ

Over the course of the first 12 races of the 2023 Formula 1 season, the average viewership in the United States across ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC is 1.24 million viewers. This is slightly higher than the overall average season for 2022 which was a 1.21 million viewers per race.

There are only two races this year that have yet to average more than 1 million viewer. That being the Australian GP (556k viewers) and Azerbaijan (959k viewers).

Hugo Boss in talks to take title sponsorship from AlphaTauri ๐Ÿ‘”

Red Bull has been in talks with Hugo Boss in order to take the title sponsorship for its sister team AlphaTauri starting in 2024. Should the deal happen, the team would likely be rebranded as โ€˜Bossโ€™ or โ€˜Boss Orangeโ€™.

AlphaTauri CEO Bayer recently stated "We are discussing with several companies who are very interested in working with us in the future but at this time there is no information to be released.โ€

Charles Leclerc new contract rumors ๐Ÿ’ฐ

There are rumors that Charles Leclerc has reportedly signed a 5-year deal with Ferrari worth up to 185 million euros. The details of the contract are that Leclerc has committed his future to Ferrari until the end of the 2026 season. From there, he has the option to extend his time with Ferrari for another three years up until 2029.

If the reports are true, we will see what other fellow Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz will do in the upcoming year with his contract to end in 2024 with Ferrari.
