Singapore transport minister facing criminal accusations ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ

Singapore transport minister S. Iswaran has resigned this past week after facing 27 charges in relation to Malaysian billionaire Ong Beng Seng, a key figure in bringing F1 to Singapore.

Some of the accusations include accepting perks such as flights on Beng Sengโ€™s private jet and tickets to the Singapore GP.

The 2024 Singapore GP is still scheduled for September even with the recent scandal accusations. The legal proceedings against Iswaran will be ongoing to see if he is convicted of the charges held against him.

F1 Academy Racers named to date ๐Ÿ›ž

The second season of Formula 1's all-female racing series, F1 Academy, will kick off in early March. Below are the racers who are connected to certain F1 teams so far for the 2024 season:

Entry fees teams have paid to enter the 2024 season ๐Ÿ’ฐ

For the upcoming season, each team has to pay a $657,837 base fee, plus $6,575 per point. With the the constructors' champion paying $7,893 per point. Below is the complete list of entry fees teams have paid to enter the 2024 season.

  • Mercedes: $3,347,012

  • Ferrari: $3,327,287

  • McLaren: $2,643,487

  • Aston Martin: $2,498,837

  • Alpine: $1,446,837

Madrid Race Confirmed ๐ŸŽ๏ธ

An announcement will be made this upcoming week to bring an F1 race back to the Madrid region more than 40 years after it last hosted an F1 race.

With the news, it could mean that Barcelona, the current host of the Spanish GP since the early 90s could lose its race.
