Australian Grand Prix Results 🏎️

It has been the first time since the Singapore GP of last year where we saw a non Red Bull driver in Carlos Sainz winning a race this past weekend in Australia. Below are results from the race:
Carlos Sainz (Ferrari)
Charles Leclerc (Ferrari)
Lando Norris (McLaren)
Oscar Piastri (McLaren)
Sergio Perez (Red Bull)

Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)
Yuki Tsunoda (RB)
Niko Hulkenberg (Haas)
Kevin Magnussen (Haas)
Alex Albon (Williams)

Valterri Bottas (Sauber)
Zhou Guanyu (Sauber)
Esteban Ocon (Alpine)
George Russell (Mercedes)
Drivers that DNF - George Russell (Mercedes), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
Other things to note:
Max Verstappen started on pole and his right rear brake exploded on lap 4. Causing his car to not finish the race and stopping him from having a record-tying 10th straight win.
Williams racing decided to withdraw Logan Sargeant from Australian GP after Alex Albon crashed his car in a practice race.
Haas benefitted from George Russell crashing on lap 57, resulting in both Haas drivers scoring points this past weekend.
New ownership group in McLaren 🤝
This past week, the Bahrain Wealth Fund became majority stakeholder in buying out McLaren. This announcement was made after McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown signed a new 30 year contract through 2030.
Paul Walsh, McLaren Group executive chairman, said: “We are delighted at Mumtalakat’s continued commitment to McLaren through this deal, which strengthens our ownership and governance structure.

Susie Wolff is filing lawsuit actions against the FIA 🏛️

Last December the FIA accused Susie Wolff of leaking confidential information to a member of the Formula One Management personnel.
In relation to the allegations made last December, Wolff filed a criminal compliant earlier this month in French courts.
Wolff stated last Thursday, “There has still has not been any transparency and accountability in relation to the conduct of the FIA and its personnel in this matter”.
