Max Verstappen wins 10th straight race

This past weekend at the Italian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen win won his 10th straight race which is now a new F1 record.

That is Red Bull’s 15th straight win as a team. You will have to go back to the 2022 Brazil race that George Russell won in order to find a race where Red Bull didn’t win.

Other notes:

  • Carlos Sainz was leading the first 15 laps of the race until his car ended up locking, allowing Verstappen to pass him and take the lead.

  • The Ferrari drivers swapped positions multiple times in the last few laps to fight for the P3 position.

Lewis Hamilton Signs 2-year Contract Extension with Mercedes đź’°

This past Thursday, Mercedes ended up signing a 2-year extension with Lewis Hamilton for the 2024 & 2025 season.

Hamilton has received a ÂŁ10m raise going from ÂŁ40m pounds to ÂŁ50m pounds per year in his new contract.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff stated “Continuing with our current driver lineup was a straightforward decision“.

With this recent news, there are now only 5 available seats available for the 2024 season.

Lance Stroll Future in F1 in question despite family connections 🤔

If you analyze Aston Martin’s last five races, you will see that Fernando Alonso has scored 39 points and Lance Stroll has scored 3 points.

Fernando Alonso has also been responsible for 78% of Aston Martin’s points for the 2023 season.

With Lance Stroll’s struggles going into the season, there has been speculation around his future with Aston Martin. With Stroll’s father being the owner of Aston Martin, many people believe that it would be impossible for him to be dropped as an F1 driver.

Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack stated after Stroll’s P16 performance this past weekend, "It's Monza, it's driver silly season and it's a bit boring at the moment," said Krack. "I think we don't have any such debate at the moment. We will be fine next year with the two drivers.“
