🏎️ Lewis Hamilton & Charles Leclerc disqualified from U.S. Grand Prix

Verstappen wins U.S. Grand Prix while Leclerc and Hamilton get disqualified 🏎️

Even with Max Verstappen P6 start, he ended up winning the U.S. Grand Prix this past weekend. This is his 15th win of the season which ties the record for most wins in a F1 season. Below are the results from the race:

Drivers Disqualified - Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) & Charles Leclerc (Ferrari)

Other things to note:

  • Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified from the U.S. Grand Prix for breaching technical regulations after failing post plank checks. Hamilton would have finished the race P2 and Leclerc P6.

  • Only the top 4 cars were inspected by FIA after the race and Leclerc’s car was under the minimum by a few tenths of a millimeter.

  • Logan Sargeant ended up receiving his first ever points in F1 this past weekend after finishing P10.

Average Time in Pits During Pitstop at U.S. Grand Prix ⏱️

Mercedes pit time required reasonable time of 24.52 seconds. Hamilton’s stops were slower than Russell’s due to Mercedes pit crew getting stuck with Hamilton’s left rear tire on one stop. Costing him a slower stop of around 3.3 seconds.

McLaren signs Bianca Bustamante to F1 development program ✍️

Bianca Bustamante was recently signed with McLaren to join their Driver Development program and be apart of the team’s livery in F1 Academy for the 2024 season.

Bustamante will drive for ART Grand Prix in the 2024 F1 Academy season. Emmanuele Pirro, Director of McLaren Driver Development stated, “I look forward to working with Bianca on her development as a racing driver. We’re also excited for Bianca to be representing the team in the F1 Academy series and we look forward to seeing her race in 2024.”
