Belgium Grand Prix Results 🏎️
This past weekend Max Verstappen won the Belgium Grand Prix despite starting P6 due to a grid penalty. He was able to end up 22.3 seconds ahead of second place finisher Sergio Perez. This is Verstappen’s eighth win in a row and has a commanding lead in the drivers championship with 314 points to date.
Some other things to note from the race was that Lewis Hamilton was able to get fastest lap by pitting with one lap to go. Along with that, Williams Racing had a poor finish placing this past Sunday even though the team was expected to score points.

Apline parts way with Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer đź‘‹
After an 18 month stint of being Alpine’s principal, Otmar Szafnauer has stepped down as team principal. Along with their sporting director Alan Permane. Bruno Famin who is the team’s vice president of motor sports plans to be the interim principal.
The Alpine team stated, “The team would like to thank Otmar for his hard work over the past 18 months and for leading the team in achieving fourth place in the 2022 constructors’ championship. The team wishes him the best for the future.”

With 314 points so far in 2023, Verstappen has already exceeded Sebastian Vettel’s championship-winning points total in 2010 of 256 points.
Sergio Perez had his 33rd career podium this past weekend, surpassing Daniel Ricciardo’s career total.
With Esteban Ocon’s P8 finish, he has scored points at Spa in his last six consecutive appearances.
Fernando Alonso place P5 at the Belgium Grand Prix for the 2nd year in a row.
