Norris & Leclerc resign contracts 📝

This past week we saw Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc sign new contracts with their existing teams.

Norris initial contract that was due to expire in 2025 and with the new deal, he has agreed to an extended deal. “It’s a great feeling to be staying,” Norris said. “I’ve grown up with McLaren and feel at home here, the team are like family to me.”

For Charles Leclerc, his contract extension length was disclosed by the Ferrari team. Leclerc did recently say in a release that he was “very pleased to know that I will be wearing the Scuderia Ferrari race suit for several more seasons to come”.

AlphaTauri renamed to ‘Visa Cash App Red Bull’ 📛

Last Wednesday Red Bull-owned Scuderia AlphaTauri F1 team announced that they will be renamed to ‘Visa Cash App RB’ for the 2024 season.

The new team name was to help Red Bull’s sister team hopefully improve after finishing eighth in last year’s constructors’ standings.

This is the third name change for the team in the past six years and the second major name change going into the 2024 season.

F1 files Chicago Trademark ™️

This past month, F1 licensing applied for four different Chicago race names. Those names being “Formula 1 Grand Prix of Chicago, Grand Prix of Chicago, Chicago Grand Prix and Formula One Chicago Grand Prix“.

The news of the trademarks doesn’t mean that there will be an F1 race anytime soon in Chicago, but that that F1 thinks one day there possibly could be a race held there.

The idea of a street race going through Chicago wouldn’t be the first street race as NASCAR last year did a street race through the city.
